  This is a fantastic trip - not only for the canoeing portion but also for learning about Finnish nature. Olli greeted us warmly when we pulled up to the... read more boathouse and his generous nature and happy sense of humor continued throughout our whole trip. We went as a family of 6 - kids ages 12-18. We began with an introduction to paddling and steering the canoes and Olli gave us a choice of possible routes. We paddled the 4 canoes (pairs of us and Olli in a solo canoe) around one of the Nuuksio lakes and then pulled up on shore to carry the boats between lakes. While onshore Olli showed us how to forage some of the local mushrooms and berries and explained a lot of the surroundings - both the national park landscape and the flora/fauna such as the types of lichen and the types of mammals living in the area; his knowledge of wilderness is deep. We then paddled a bit more and stopped for a snack and a swim. The snack was delicious and the swimming delightful!

We are looking forward to taking the canoes out again soon and highly recommend a nature experience with Feel the Nature. Everything was safe and easy - they had vests, dry sacs, etc. We were able to take all our things safely in a large wet bag they provided. Olli even took lovely photos too which he sent to us! It would be a great first stop in Nuuksio and Olli’s knowledge of the park would certainly help you plan the rest of your visit.
