On our winter hiking tour you can experience magical Finnish winter nature in Nuuksio National Parks close to Helsinki. The winter safari takes you to the snow covered forests and also safely to ice covered lakes.<\/p>\n

When the snow cover in the forest is deep enough, we put on snowshoes. Using snowshoes is simple. If you can walk, you know how to snowshoe. If there is not that much snow for snowshoes, we can hike in the forest and typically also on the frozen lakes of Nuuksio.<\/p>\n

Walking  on snowy terrain  is an excellent opportunity to explore animal tracks on snow. In the middle of our trip we\u2019ll have a break with a nice warm drink and snack by campfire. Sitting by the fire after hike in the nature can be relaxing, even meditative, experience.<\/p>\n

Cold wave came to Finland and we got also beautiful snow cover to Southern Finland. Lakes in Nuuksio have strong ice cover so we can safely walk on the frozen lakes. We just got over 15 new snow to Nuuksio and there is ca. 30 cm snow,  so there are ideal conditions for snowshoeing  on the lake ice and forests. Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scheduled trips start with transportation from Helsinki City Centre. From there our guide takes you with a minibus to the National Park. You can also step on the bus en route from Espoo. Read more about route and pickup points<\/a>. In Nuuksio we start with a short briefing to snowshoeing and to the route. Private trips include pickup from your hotel. \"Winter<\/p>\n

Our route goes through the snowy terrain in the National Park. We cross lakes and swamps, walk through the forest and enjoy the magical winter forest. Our guide leads the groups in a right pace, so that everybody can enjoy. Now and then we will stop and look around and listen to the sounds of the nature. We will also have warm drink and some snack to eat during the break by campfire.<\/p>\n

The winter hike with a break  takes about 3 hours, with transportation and arrangements 5 hours . On scheduled trip you should be able to walk 6 km in varying terrain. On private trip we will adjust route and distance according to your wishes. After the tour we will take you back to the Helsinki city center.<\/p>\n
