What kind of self-guided activities can we do during our stay?

On arrival, you are welcomed by a local guide giving you instructions and hints for your stay. You will find also cottage manual with walking route suggestions, recipes and more.

Summertime you can walk in the forest, swim in the lake, row a boat and try ankle fishing. Berry and mushroom season begins in July and lasts till the snow comes (October-December). In the forest, you can pick delicious and healthy blueberries and lingonberries. For a bit speedier adventure, you can also rent mountain bikes or kick-bikes for a ride on small sandy roads.

Wintertime you can ride a kicksled and especially children love sledding (you can rent kicksleds and sleds for the kids are available for no extra charge). You can also rent snowshoes for a nice walk in the forest or on the lake.  If you are brave enough to try ice swimming you can make a hole in the ice and make a dip in the lake from the warm sauna. You can also try ice-fishing – we will tell you when the ice is safe to walk on.

After the activities, year-round, you can relax in the sauna, a foot bath and enjoy a campfire by the cottage or fireplace in the cottage.

Is it possible to book guided activities during our stay in Nuuksio?
In addition to activities you can do independently, we would be happy to organize for you guided nature activities, e.g. canoeing, hiking, foraging or snowshoeing wintertime) in Nuuksio National  Park. On arrival day we could pick you up in the morning and bring you to your cottage after guided activity. On your departure day, we could pick you up from your cottage and take you to Helsinki after a guided trip in the national park.

How do I book and pay?
You can book on this web page. Select first cottage category (luxury/traditional/Villa Armas), arrival date, length of stay and a number of people. We automatically select the best offer for you from available villas in that category. We charge (online payment) booking fee 500€ while you book the program. The final payment is invoiced later and it is due one week before the program starts. Additional services, like guided nature activities, can be added to the final payment. If you book the program 14 days before the start or later full amount is charged on booking.

We have limited time and could stay only 1 night in the cottage? How about longer stay?
If you can stay only one night we recommend you our one night all-inclusive program Night in a Lakeside Luxury Villa by Nuuksio National Park .
